This is a hand dyed scarf using natural dye with chestnutt and then real leaves are placed on top, rolled and steamed for 2 hours to extract the color and patterns from the leaves. It is like printing a photo directly from the leaves to the fabric. The plants are harvested from the San Francisco Bay Area, and each piece is handmade using natural dyes on silk. It takes several days process to make each scarf, and each piece is unique and cannot be reproduced. Each piece comes with a hand written label describing all the plants that were used.

100% Crepe de Chine Silk - approximately 14 x 72 inches. It is made of a heavier luxurious crepe weave creating a mat feeling that cannot be appreciated in photos. It drapes nicely and notice less crease. Hand hemmed. It can also be used as a wall hang with the wooden hanger sold separately.
