Mayumi will introduce botanical printing using fresh leaves and flowers along with minerals to transfer natural colors and shapes from plants onto fiber.
Level 1 class is an introduction class making white background scarf. This class will give you an understanding of dye plants and deepen your relationship with nature.
Level 2&3 class is the next level from Level 1 and will introduce blue grey color background to your scarf. You will take home a beautiful, one-of-a-kind silk scarf dyed with fresh plants from the Bay Area.
You must either take the Level 1 class in the morning or have taken my Level 1 class (with white back ground) in the past.
If you have taken Level 2 in the past, I will prepare the Deep red scarf for Level 3 so please email me separately so I can prepare the silk scarf for you.
Materials: All materials are included. Each attendee will receive a ready-to-dye silk scarf (11 x 60") and all the tools needed for participation. Fresh leaves and flowers will be provided but you are also encouraged to bring flowers from your own garden for an ultra-personal scarf!
